Does anyone else think both A.Villa AND Birmingham fans are just being petty over the Alex Mcleish affair ?

Birmingham fans are calling him a coward for resigning via email. This however doesn't seem as bad as some are making out now that we know he was targeting potential signings yet wasn't being backed by the board.

Then we also learn through a quote from the LMA(League Managers Association) chief executive Richard Bevan that "one of the issues Alex resigned over was Mr Pannu's(Birmingham's chairman) sacking of Alex's chief scout, who learned that he was to be dismissed when he was copied in on an email from Mr Pannu to one of the club's officials. There were other issues as well which ultimately made his position untenable." With one of the other issues obviously being the lack of financial backing from board level.

Then you get the Villa fan's saying they could never have a former blues manager in charge of their team. I bet if he got them into Europe at the end of a successful Premiership season a lot would instantly change their mind's.

Their other excuse is what has he won. Appart from success in Scotland with Rangers the only trophy he's ever won is the League Cup.

So he's basically just as successfull as the great Martin O'Neil then. Oh no wait, Mcleish has also managed at international level so that would make him even more experienced than O'Neil, would it not ?

Both set's of fan's just need to grow up.

Birmingham - You're looking at getting 拢5m in compensation, so just get on with it, your next manager will be able to buy two Championship level players with that money and you could be back in the Premiership within a year.

Villa - So what that he managed your rivals. If he goes on to make you a more successful club than you currently are(and you're hardly top 6 material at the moment) then that's all that should matter. It could be worse. Put it this way, would you rather have Sam Allardice as your manager along with his route one style of football.Does anyone else think both A.Villa AND Birmingham fans are just being petty over the Alex Mcleish affair ?
Call me old fashioned but i dont think you should walk out and join your biggest rivals.

Imagine if Walter had left to join Celtic would you have been ok about it?
5 million isn't much compensation in today's terms, its not the best thing to happen after the heartbreak of getting relegated.

Out with the old in with the new I say. He done well for us but no use in crying over spilt milk.Does anyone else think both A.Villa AND Birmingham fans are just being petty over the Alex Mcleish affair ?
Who Cares About them.
Alex McLeish didn't have an affair Ryan Giggs did though many a times.Does anyone else think both A.Villa AND Birmingham fans are just being petty over the Alex Mcleish affair ?
Both sets of fans don't like him so I would advise him to get the hell of of Birmingham.
As a Liverpool fan thats like moyes coming to us. Its stupid. He doesnt want to be Birmingham manager so stuff him get someone better in and Villa fans i can under there fustration. If Villa chairmen dont listen to there fans then there stupid, its clear hes not wanted. I dont see why you would want him anyways he just took birimingham down and walks out on them when times get tough.
Why would villa want him anyway?? I wouldnt want him as manager he aint that great and will bail out of he gets a better job offer (which he wouldnt) and incase any1 is forgettin he did spend and brung in players like martins and hleb and still got them relegated. Ok he did win the league cup but lets face it most pl teams arent that bothered and put out weak teams in that competion
Its sad fact that Fans are fickle, i think they have a good manager now Aston villa have a great history in football, at one tome Aston Villa had players in the England squad, memories short lived!
