Will Vincent Jackson be back in 2010?

Someone in my fantasy football league dropped Vincent Jackson, and I do need a 3rd wideout. I read the latest news on him:

"News: "On the advice of the NFL Players Association, Jackson will report to the Chargers by October 31 in order to earn an accrued season and secure unrestricted free-agency in 2011, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports."

"Analysis: Neither Jackson nor the Chargers have confirmed this news yet, but it makes complete business sense. Jackson need to report before the start of Week 8 because his placement on the roster exempt list means that he must sit out three games unpaid before he will get credit for the six weeks he needs to accrue a season of service. Of course, it remains to be seen how he will be handled by the Bolts when he reports."

I did not understand what they said. Will he be back in 2010? Is there aI'd be willing to hold a roster spot for him for a few weeks if I'll be rewarded with an A-Grade wide reciever. Will Vincent Jackson be back in 2010?
Yes, VJax should be back for week 11 when SD plays on Monday 11/22.

In order to be a free agent next year, he needs to accrue a year of NFL service time. He has to be available to play for six weeks in order to accomplish that. In addition, VJax faces a 3-game suspension that must be served prior to those six games. That means he has to report by week 8, then serve the 3 game suspension first. Will Vincent Jackson be back in 2010?
Roll the dice if you like, but this can really twist and turn....he reports and sits for three and - then what - the Chargers activate him, knowing he is on the clock and just may do those 50% routes (which may mean he has more of a decoy, like Moss in his final appearance for NE) or deactivate him for games based on an "injury," so he essentially can sit home and pull a paycheck. Or, he reports, gets the trio of games out of the way and then can somehow turn things on to help a club willing to start a malcontent over players who have shown loyalty to the system.
