Which soccer team in The English Premier League (EPL) is most similar to The New York Knicks of The National Basketball Association (NBA)?



In terms of record, number of superstar players, and number of championships.



The New York Knicks had a regular season record of 42-40 (51% winning percentage), have 2 superstar players (Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire), and have won 2 championships (1970 and 1973).

Ignore Just Do It, he's just pretentious. Patrick Ewing was a superstar who had the misfortune of playing at the same time as Michael Jordan, who was too dominant for anybody to beat.

And the name "soccer" actually comes from England in the late 1800's and was a common use term until nearly the middle of the 20th century. Soccer is also the commonly used term in Australia and often in Ireland as well, where football refers to "Gaelic Football."



Anyways, a similar team to the Knicks might be Liverpool. They were once one of the absolute best, but have experienced harsh times lately. However, near the end of this season, things have started looking up. Also, they recently made two high profile acquisitions in Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll (like Amare and 'Melo). They also sold off their disgruntled star, Fernando Torres (like Stephon Marbury, except Torres was far better than Marbury).
One can find 5-10 teams in each by your definition of super star. You can find similarly in EPL as well.



If you and so called hyped guys call Carmelo and Stoudamire as superstars - what have these two won? Any NBA rings? Have they really challenged any top teams and carried their team to beat top seeds. LOL, both have never played in a NBA finals and they are so hyped to be called Super star.



I will tell you who a super star - Kobe, Wade, Tim Duncan - those are super stars. They have won NBA rings by leading their teams. Excuse me, I like Patrick Ewing, but he is not a super star,but a star. Sorry to be sacrcastic, but that is the reality - with these 2 guys around Knicks will not win NBA ring.
