If the Senate wants to investigate the Pats for spying shouldn't they do so with the rest of the NFL?

Now yeah... the Pats got caught "spying", but if they really want to eradicate this "problem" shouldn't they look into all NFL teams? I mean anyway... up until this year, for the past 8 years, the coachs association was consistently pushing in the offseason to get rid of that rule because it was obsolete. And then when they saw that Goodell meant business about keeping it by punishing the Pats everyone jumped ship on the idea. I'm a realist though. I know that it won't happen and that this is something that will be stamped solely on the Patriots resume... which is unfortunate because they are truly a dynasty that's done so with class and also through the rigors of true teamwork and having to work with the salary cap... players that willingly take less money to win and succeed in the game they love only to be told by bitter fans that it doesn't count. I don't know... I am pretty disgusted with football and the quality and integrity of alot of the fans.

None the less...

GO PATS!If the Senate wants to investigate the Pats for spying shouldn't they do so with the rest of the NFL?
ummm, you say that the patriots 'are a dynasty that's done so with class'...... i don't call spying on other teams 'doing it with class'. and you're disgusted with football and the quality and integrity of a lot of the fans.....what about the quality and integrity of the patriots? face it, the patriots are dirty spying cheaters.
They will. The Pats just got caught that's all.If the Senate wants to investigate the Pats for spying shouldn't they do so with the rest of the NFL?
lol @ pats being a dynasty with class.
Why don't they catch the Jets and rat them out? That should take some of the heat of.If the Senate wants to investigate the Pats for spying shouldn't they do so with the rest of the NFL?
i have no idea why the senate needs to care about a football team spying on another football team

its not even against the law

its only against NFL rules

and BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! pats (the 18 and no! team)
Wow, you pats fans just cant admit your team was cheating so your next excuse is, "Well other teams do it too"... looks like those "Other teams" weren't "Caught Cheating" therefore they're aren't cheating
Using that logic every time someone is accused of anything the entire legue should be investigated, Something like that would make little sense and would treat the innocent like they were guilty. No, only teams that have been caught cheating should be investigated for it. So, for all your talk of dynasty they brokethe rules that were in place and should be punished if it worse than first reported. The most cowardly and illogical defense is that "everyone else did it" defense if you did the crime be willing to serve the time.

Next!!!!!!!!!

With a lame defense of the Patriots involvment with spying on opponents question
Spoken like a true fairweather bandwagon Patriots fan. "All the other teams did it, so what's the problem?" If that's your defense then I have a question for you: If Belichick and the Patriots are so great, why were they stupid enough to get caught?
Yes they should. Why do you think all the coaches are backing away from this? They all know they were doing the same and worse. For people to say they are cheaters because they got caught is rediculous. If 10 thugs beat up an old lady and only one of them was caught, that does not make the other 9 less guilty. And they were not caught, they were ratted out by a coach that had bad feelings towards Bill and the Pats. The Ram player and the fans have already withdrawn their lawsuit. It's all bull. Comcast is Spectors second biggest contributor. That says it all.
They should.

A number of other posters mention that other teams haven't gotten caught. Not true. If they knew as much as they claim they wouldn't say that. Other teams have been caught spying in a plethora of ways as well. The difference is that Tagliabu and previous commissioners didn't do anything about it. It was the status quo in the NFL that the commissioner would look the other way. Goodell, however, has changed the status quo and that's why the Pats "got caught". Belichick didn't think he was serious about it, probably because previous commissioners didn't. They obviously don't understand the concept of precedent.

As far as the "everyone else did it" defense, it's perfectly legitimate if other teams had been caught cheating and nothing was done to them.

There is enough probable cause to have other teams investigated. Even if other teams hadn't taped signals, taping signals is only 1 of a 100 different ways to steal signals. Jimmy Johnson even admitted to taping signals when he was with the Cowboys. Mike Shanahan admitted to hiring lip readers and being able to decipher signals in the first half. There's a slew of ways to steal signals. Check out the links below.
