Student Athlete Discrimination?

Can a high school football coach decided if a student can participate even when they are eligible to participate according to the FHSAA Rules?

no duh. if i was a coach and i didn't have that power, i would quit. seriously theres nothing wrong with that. are you speaking of yourself? not another girl fighting to play football. if you are speaking of yourself, you would have to pass a special physical anyways. until then the coach doesn't have to even let you try out. even then its still up to him or her. nobody wants a lawsuit on their hands for a gil who thought she could play, found out she was a weakling crybaby and her parents sue the board of education.
Look. Quit trying to prove some stupid feminist point by going "hey I'm gonna play on the football team and show them girls can do it too"

It's stupid, and people are going to hate you for it. I'm not being mean I'm being honest.

Women are not meant to play football. Their bodies are a great deal more fragile than that of males. Not to mention girls get very angry very easily and all the scratching and stuff in catfights on the field would just be no good...Student Athlete Discrimination?
Can they, I'm sure they can. That does not make it discrimination. That would depend on the reason.

Being eligible to participate is only the first consideration.

Need more information to say more about any individual case.
You're asking if a coach can choose not to let a player on his team? Or choose not to let them play?

Of course he can.

I'd say he probably can... He could have his own criteria for people he wants to allow to try out.Student Athlete Discrimination?
Well, there has to be some reason. The coach certainly has the power, but not all of it. You can appeal to the principal and/or the school board. But if the kid has a history that may not make him a good candidate, then eligibility does not matter. If the coach has something personal against the kid, that may matter. But imagine if you win and get the kid on the team....how will that coach act towards him. He will be permanent water boy. The coach will be even more against the kid, one for whatever reason he did not want the kid in the first place, and two because the kid got the coach's decision overruled.

Find a new school if it is that important.
