I need help with some questions about homosexuality and the Bible.?

My Pastor recently told me that my homosexual relationship is against God鈥檚 Law and that the Bible outlines that I am an abomination. I read Leviticus 18:22 and it seems that he is correct and that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states that for man to lay down as he lays down with women is an abomination.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Law and how to follow them.

1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord -

Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors in my condo association claim the odor are not so pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what

do you think would be a fair price for her? Can I list her on ebay?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense and keep slapping me!

4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians? They are so cute!

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. The passage clearly states he

should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is there someone I call?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a

lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of

abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though

this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die and agin am I morally obligated to kill them or can I just call upon the Mormons or Baptist to do it?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play

football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does

his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also

tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the

whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private

family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Please help me with these questions. I am just so perplexed!I need help with some questions about homosexuality and the Bible.?
OK, this is good. Thanks for putting this together. I'm still laughing.
You should be laughing!.. people are laughing AT YOU... Your suggestion is really commical because it applies to Christians in NO way! Good one!

Take care buddy.

I think that you've got a very good understanding of the editing that many haters do.

Very good.

Edit: By Sultry's argument that Jesus said "all food is clean", it seems to me that is an indicator that all of the Levitican laws were banished. As far as Romans being used against us, it would be unnatural for me to be with a woman; therefore, I am clean and good to go.
Their is a "Spirit of Homosexuality" loose in the land today,You appear to have bought his lies;

Unbelief is Your problem:I need help with some questions about homosexuality and the Bible.?
Don't be too perplexed! Those laws are not for Christians, so I am not sure why your pastor would refer to them... unless he is pointing out that EVEN in the Old testament, God was against homosexual relations, the SAME AS HE IS in the New testament, see Romans 1:26-28, for example.

The Levitican Laws were written for the Israelites (Jews) as a means of preserving them, at that time, and have nothing to do with Gentiles/Christians, aside from the ones that are carried over and re-mentioned in the New Testament.

Jesus also said that ALL FOOD was clean... and that its what's inside a man.. not what goes in, and gets pooped out, that matters.

Read some more... you'll be even more perplexed, but also gain some insight!

Take care!
This just goes to show how the Christians of today pick and choose the verses they want to follow. Hypocrites are rampant in most organized religions. I always find it funny how they forget that judgment is reserved only for God.

Thanks for a good laugh dude!
Concerning the state laws, you are so fortunate to live in the United States and not ancient Israel. Concerning the spiritual laws, I'm sure that proper accomodations can be made in the after-life too. No one has to love God if they don't want to.
Being gay isn't a crime, against God, or whatever. If you LOVE that's waht matters. Do you know how many American households divorce? 50% PERCECT. I'm a child of of one of these divorves, have been since I was about 3. If you love and will give your kids and parter/ yyourself a good life, that's what matters
I've always liked that bit ever since I heard it on 'The West Wing'
