There is about one month until basketball tryouts starts and I need to know different exercises that I can do to get myself in better shape and stronger. I am already attending basketball workouts at the school twice a week which is making me look good but can you guys give me any other drills? How can I get stronger and in better shape before basketball season?
This all depends on what exactly your goal is....if you're looking for basketball conditioning, then definitely do suicides and other line drills. You should also work on your core strength, which will make you stronger overall (ab and back exercises such as back raises and planks).
Also jump rope and do rim jumps to help with your second leap ability.
DO NOT try to start a vertical program at this point, they hurt your vertical for the first month or so and require more rest than con be obtained during a season.
Exercises for strength would include:
Push-ups
Lunges
Bench Presses
Dips
Military Presses (aka Shoulder Presses)
Squats
Wall-sits
descriptions of many of these are available at

THIS IS WHAT NBA TAKES!
there are lots of things and that is what we are doing in athletics. getting ready for b-ball season.wellll, u can do the spider which is ur bouncing the ball under ur butt and between ur legs and ur dribbling in basically buut u bounce it with left hand then right hand then put ur hands behind ur legs and bounce it with left then right and do it like 20 times. and u have to move fast so that will help lots. also u could drop the ball etween ur legs (saame spot as the spider) an ur hands are in front first then u let go of the ball reaally fast then put ur hands ehind ur back/legs then catch it. itds real fun. theres lot more!
hope i helped!
