Are people over "Spygate" or will people continue to cling on to it?

What do you think? I was over it 2 days after it was brought forth because being a knowledgable football fan I understand that this has happened atleast ONCE, and that's being very leniant, with every other team. This rule had been a hot topic of discussion with the coach's association every offseason for the past 8-10 years constantly trying to get rid of it because of it's absolescence. What's difficult for me is having to listen to everyone's bias get in the way of their common sense and act as if they had never heard this was going on before and like the Patriots are the ONLY team to do it. I understand it's just to discredit a team that has been the most successful over the past decade because it annoys you. I understand there are certain fans that really bother you and you just enjoy seeing them suffer.... haha, but don't act that way.... it makes you look like you don't have a clue to people on the outside looking in. I don't know... just thought I would throw this out there. Are people over "Spygate" or will people continue to cling on to it?
Wow... I literally just got done posting a question pertaining to this exact subject LOL. I don't think Spygate will die down any time soon man. We're in for a long road ahead of us. Everyone knows that it has been done before, but because of the widely known hatred for the New England Patriots people choose to practice in denial and act like the Pats are the only ones to do it. The thing I find funny though is the fact that the man who ratted them out has benefited from it his entire career in New England and is probably in his position right now because of it. Eric Mangini will always be known as the coach who couldn't beat his teacher, so he just ratted him out... it's funny if you think about it LOL. Don't worry though, eventually the Pats will get back on top and win another Super Bowl and suddenly the bandwagon will start up again and there will be more people defending them rather than bashing them. GO PATS!
There may be more to come depending on what Walsh really has (if anything). I doubt it will go away overnight. Funny that you say you were over it 2 days after it surfaced yet you've been posting questions about it for 6 months.....Are people over "Spygate" or will people continue to cling on to it?
Perhaps you should get over your "get over spygate" phase. People feel that the pat's titles are tainted and undeserved. It will never go away, deal with it.
as long as the pats are winning of course their are going to be questions about it..who knows they might keep bringing it up during the season but it comes down to hateing the winning teamAre people over "Spygate" or will people continue to cling on to it?
no, which is rediculous
As long as they continue to win, people will not let it go.
I don't think it's a matter of people clinging onto it. It's more when will the League stop clinging onto it. Roger Goodell, the Commissioner of the NFL, has one more person to speak to. That person is Matt Walsh. Walsh is a former Patriot's assistant and he will meet with Goodell on May 13 about New England's videotaping of opposing teams. This meeting to months to organize because of legal issues. Walsh claims he has videotapes no one knows about of tapes practices, that could be damaging to the New England Patriots. Once this meeting takes place Goodell will most likely hold a Press Conference explaining what the meeting was about and if further punishment is warranted. As a football fan I believe the Patriots should have been punished further. Bill Belichick should have been suspended. He cheated and when anyone cheats in a game (coach or player), they are suspended or banned from the sport. I believe other teams have been cheating in recent years, but the Patriots got caught. There's not proving other teams cheated. But I moved on from it. I don't care what happens after this "meeting". It's all in the past and everyone needs to move on from it. The league will be on the lookout for it now. This cheating did not help them win any Super Bowls and no one should question that.
You and I have discussed this issue in the past and we both understand each others point of view. I agree that people need to get over it as it is said and done, but you also have a commissioner who keeps making headlines with statements like " if more evidence arises, them we will handle it accordingly" as well as the meeting here soon with Mr .Walsh I believe his name to be. I have never said the Patriots are the only ones who have done this, but they are the only ones who have got caught just as every one speeds but you only get a fine if the police catch you doing it. The truth is: all teams have probably done it including the Steelers, Cowboys, and probably every other NFL team looking to get an edge over their opponent. I correct my self from previous emails and say it is not a discredit to a very successful team, but a discredit to a cheating coach. He is at fault and he admits to it. This is not suffrage, it is an act that their coach brought on to them and he is at fault for the fans, including the haters, backlash. I have no doubt the Patriots are and still are a great team, I look forward to playing them in week 13. Only Fate will decide the outcome of this game and the future of Spy gate and the Patriots. Good Luck to the Patriots in overcoming this obstacle.....
i'm sure a couple other teams do it in the league. i don't make a big issue out of it, but the Patriots were caught cheating. the only reason why the issue won't be dropped is not because of the amount of hate for the Patriots, but because the Patriots were the only team to get caught doing it. not once, but 5 times! i remember they were caught twice in 2006 alone. that is why Spygate will remain in every football fan's head. there's nothing much you can do about it at the moment other than pray Belicek either doesn't cheat or finds a way to not get caught.
I don't think it will ever end. As long as the Pat's continue to play well people will pull this issue up again and again. It's alll they have. If they win by 3 points, they cheated, if they win by 30 points, they cheated. I personally feel right now that Walsh has nothing. He claims he as held back for legal reasons, yet he signed no confidentiality agreement with the Pats. The time for him to spill his guts would have been when Mangini did. He was fired from the Pats. More sour grapes. Even if, and thats a big if, he does have something, how will they prove that anyone told him to do it, since he was fired for trying to tape a conversation with Paoli. The guy is a snake, and so it Mangini.
I am not over it, because we do not know to what extent the cheating occured. I don't care that every other team had been doing it. The Pats were specifically told not to do it, and then they did it again anyways. Then Bill comes on and says that he misunderstood the rules. Gimme a break. It is just one small part of his overall arrogance towards the rest of the league. If he ignores this rule, what about the others?

This doesn't make me think any less of the Pats. They won those games and Brady is an all time QB. For me, it is the coach that bothers me, because nothing goes down in that organization without his say so. So I want to see how far his bending of the rules went.
